FAIRY TALE WARS!

Well, I haven't burned out... Yet. I thought that I'd take away from the visual assault that I have become so accustomed to inflicting.
If you have seen ANY of the "LEGENDS" comic work than there is nothing new to you...
BUT, there is great artwork mixed with an even better script. Check out the link and newsarama.com has got the scoop!
Enjoy!

Updated... COLOR! Bam!

Well, I hope y'all are as surprised as I am.... Something near completion is posted! YAY!
My first instinct was to say, "Holy $#*^!" and rub my eyes to make sure I saw the end of this illustration coming to a head. Here is the color concept for the villain-ess for the Steampunk Video Game.
Back to the drawing tablet I go... Oh, and if you don't own a Wacom tablet.... GO GET ONE! Enjoy!

Arrrrgylle!

Well, now I got an old man's tale for ya'! Or, just some wrinkly old Steampunk Character... Another video game addition to the wall. He's in the pencil stage too, but to be continued in color before Monday. I thought the idea of a blacksmith with an anvil stylized sledge would be cool. I'm not sure if it will make it to final production...?
Oh, well. Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving! Now I have to give thanks to the computer Gods for letting mine start one more day.... That's right! I seriously need to rebuild.

Lil' London Gal

More! Gimme' more! O'kay, more images from the Steampunk Video Game. Just had to add this now before I color it, wanted pencils available to see.
She's a simple Non playable character that will interact with the main Hero. Simple advice, make sure a "girl" looks like a girl... So, no large comic book bosoms! I realize the scowl is a bit much... but have you ever scolded a little girl and stick around for a reaction? I don't plan on it.
Well, back to the drawing tablet! COLOR BEWARE!

Marvel/Disney Theme Park...

Oh my stars and garters! I was beginning to wonder if the House of Mouse would uproot Universal Studios Adventure Island. While it has been home to Marvel properties for many years and a fond visit for me to Orlando, there was always the looming question of "IF" it was going to remain. Hmmm?
Well, the park is going to stay where it is. Too bad, it would have been entertaining to watch all those Marvel characters go "flying" on crane wires as they are hauled out of the park and placed on trailers... LOL!
Interested? Check out Newsarama...

Have a read and enjoy!

Holy Smokes! Been awhile?!

Ladies and Gentlemen... As you well know I've been absent from my own website for far too long. My apologies for the neglect. So, to satiate those appetites and update you I've added a design for a CCS class. It is to be the lead "villain" for a video game concept. YAY! Bad gal!
Simple pencil sketch w/Adobe Photoshop to paint. I will upload a finished piece as it progresses. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Steel Reserved Art

Damn. Been waaayyyy too long since I've added to this site. Hard at work to finish many things (inc. the TMNT pic from the start). Spidey villians gallery under went a detour in favor of school work for now.
Plan of attack? Finish as much as possible now and hope to get ahead of the curve.
Also, trying to finish up a set of 6 pages for a contest hosted by Image Comics very own; Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows). The book is tentatively titled "50 girls 50". Wish me luck.
So, chew on this for a while. See y'all in a few!

Disney Acquires Marvel Entertainment?!

O'kay... SO CRAZY! I have officially been "WOW'd". This sounds like a great way for Marvel to continue on as a global brand w/out worrying about going bankrupt (again) but I fear the character development will grow out of control w/ product marketing.
I swear, IF I see the movies or my "MATURE READER" books that I pick up take to a lighter note or even worse, just plain non-sense moral messages hidden in the writing, I will go over to the dark side... And read DC Comics. LOL!
Seriously, if you have not read the story on marvel.com then you should not be flipping out. This purchase will bring strength to Marvel much in the way that Warner Brothers has been able to support DC in its ventures. Please, read the link and then throw in your 2 cents. Until then, "HUSH"!

Conceptual Greatness!

O'kay. So, it's been a while since I posted anything worth a damn. That's my fault for drawing so damn light w/ "non-phot blue" pencil and then detailing w/ even lighter 3H lead.... Oh, HELL!
I'm slowing creating a piece that shows our web head at his worst... At the foot of his rogues. And what a huge list of villains he has to draw (crap!).
But, since I love a well drafted design as much as the next I should suggest a looksie at one of my favs. Feng Zhu has been using photoshop to do tons of stuff. His interior renderings are insane and he makes it look so easy. Check him out and don't speed through it, there are some great illustrations if you take the time.

San Fran Storm

Well, now I'm officially down to once a week postings. Apparently I need to play more and work less... So, it would seem that my drawing board has been neglected as of late. Now, on with the show!
Thought I would give an inked piece before I take it into Photoshop and play with it for contrast. A few of my favorite X-Men happen to be the strong (both physically and mentally) characters. Storm is always a fan favorite... Without a doubt the most underrated! She deserves a solo title right now, damnit! But, we may have to wait and see if she is the "NEW" Black Panther (seeing as how all the pictures of BP have boobs!), as much as that would be totally rediculous...
So, sit back, relax, and enjoy while I work on something new...Or just color this piece for later.

Webcomics HELP!

Soooo... A couple of us "Old School" comic lovers want to get on the web and indie publish a few ideas. BUT, it has come to our attention that anything w/ a $#*% load of bandwidth will require a bit of $$$. Not too bad thought what I've come across (and Jeremiah too). Scrounging around the net a few sites seemed to give a bit of helpful info.
If interested you should totally check out the site I posted below. These guys are pretty good and seem to know a hell of a lot. (They are also supporters of pvp comics online... Cool site btw)

FASHION SENSE

O.K. So drawing from a picture is a lot easier than real life models... BUT, when you're trying to illustrate fabrics that vary from piece to piece it's a lot better when they stand still. That, and the fact that you can take a break and have a Kit-Kat w/out them complaining that standing like so is excruciating.
Hope y'all like it and expect a few more... Magazines beware! I have a knife... Opps! Rusty... Tetanus anyone?

MARVEL DIGITAL COMICS ROCK!

Holy crap! I should have posted this earlier...
http://marvel.com/videos/794.Spider-Woman_Motion_Comics_Trailer
So if I'm not mistaken, Marvel has put another notch in it's belt in the entertainment industry. The digital age of comics looks pretty good. An interview said that it would not create any conflict w/ in store sales (GAWD forbid! I love my comic shop- Vault of Midnight; in Ann Arbor).
I think the art by ALex Maleev looks great and will serve the noir-thriller well.
Just check the damn thing out and quit reading this....

80's MANIA!

Maybe I'm the only 1 feeling a little nostalgic w/ all these 80's toy trend movies... (sniff, sniff) But all I'm asking for is a true to Eastman and Laird's original publication of TMNT that's not all cutesy-wootsey. Anybody else remember the B&W graphic novels that had the RED bandannas and not the multicolored ones? I'm just sayin'!
I wish that a version of Thundercats could see the big screen with the help of a Bruckheimer or Mann attatched to it. At least if it gets dragged throught the mud a few time over it will still be action packed w/ Cats!
Enjoy this tid-bit and keep an eye out for more brothers to appear!

MARVEL MAKES IT OFFICIAL

Well ladies and gentlemen. Marvel has been gracious enough to give all us fans and creative minds an outlet for our desire to succeed for so long. They have now closed the "open submissions" door and pulled the blinds. Does anybody else hear that Semisonic song "Closing Time"?
Check out the read that covers the sad telling of Marvel's decision....

SUCCESS!

HA-HA! Not a total failure, yet. So, this is where it will all begin. I'm sure there will be plenty more mistakes to learn from... Yes, I will "learn" something in this process.
SO. Here it is. A preliminary illustration that is going to change when I knock another chunk outa' the ole' photo bucket. Enjoy, and stay tuned!

WARMING UP

Alright. So this is my exploration into the HTML world run by Google. Nothing says novice quite like the start of a post... That and the fact that my first attempt to upload an image totally FAILED! So, in good spirits and sobriety I will simply leave a few words in my wake.
If I fail to post any images this week it is because I need to convert my pictures into web format... Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?.... I will get this damn thing done even if it becomes the bane of my existence.
Thanks for any support that will compel me to do the damn thing!
